Program Manager - Energy Efficiency for Michigan | ICF International | Jackson, MI

We are currently seeking a Program Manager for our Energy Efficiency group to manage and grow ICF's residential retrofit energy efficiency programs in Michigan.

ICF's Energy, Climate & Transportation practice offers results and solutions to a broad range of clients in the energy industry in the Americas, Europe, and Asia. We have advised both private and public sector clients in all facets of the energy industry for more than 30 years. The Program Manager will be responsible for:
  • Managing a multi-functional project team comprised of technical and marketing specialists (some ICF internal staff and some subcontractors) to ensure timely and professional completion of all tasks and achieve annual program goals
  • Overseeing all external communication activities to make certain all messaging is accurate and consistent
  • Working closely with team to develop strategies to influence market adoption of comprehensive home performance and energy efficiency services
  • Recruiting residential partners and providing ongoing technical, marketing and sales support
  • Conducting market ally outreach and training as needed
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with key market actors in the residential home improvement industry including but not necessarily limited to contractors, real estate agents, home energy rating specialists, weatherization agencies, and public officials
  • Analyzing energy efficiency and renewable energy measures and making recommendations on how best to integrate cost-effective measures into home performance and energy efficiency practices
  • Managing budgets and resources to maximize efficiencies
  • Preparing project status reports to accurately monitor progress towards client's energy efficiency and/or market transformation goals, completion of contract deliverables and report annual achievements (infrastructure developed, projects delivered, kW and kWh achieved, spillover benefits such as natural gas savings, emission reductions, etc.
  • Identifying risks and implement mitigation plans
  • Developing and implementing long-term business plans for growing energy efficiency work in the residential sector in the Northeast and Midwest
  • Positioning ICF with utilities and other market actors to expand our offerings in the Northeast and Midwest regions

Key Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree, Masters desired and 8-12 years of experience developing and running successful energy efficiency programs, with specific expertise in residential energy issues
  • Demonstrated capabilities in building and maintaining relationships with key market actors in the residential home improvement industry including contractors, real estate agents, home energy rating specialists, weatherization agencies, and public officials
  • Experience managing consulting projects with public sector clients, including providing quality control and budget accountability
  • Outstanding analytical, writing, and communication skills and excellent interpersonal and management skills are required
  • Experience with the energy efficiency program market in Michigan and familiarity with programs run by utility companies in Michigan
  • Experience with the energy efficiency program market in Michigan
  • Familiarity with the home improvement market and with residential energy efficient and renewable technologies

Additional Qualifications:
  • Expert knowledge of integrated or whole house building science principles
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency and US policies for residential energy
  • Knowledge of water efficiency issues
  • Knowledge of sustainable building practices and technologies
